"This game does not cater to gameplay or sound or theme. It caters to graphics. If you own some of the latest WWII titles out there all you have to do is ask yourself this question: Is state of the art graphics worth buying yet another WWII game? On the other hand, although not new per say, this game was a lot of fun. I ended up beating the game, even though I was really stressed for time. Weather you think that Medal of Honor - Airborne is a worthy purchase or not is entirely up to you, but this is by far the best Medal of Honor up to date." ~gamepyre.com
"The Medal of Honor series has had its ups and downs unfortunately it has been more of downs recently." ~strategyinformer.com
ADDITIONAL REVIEWS: "What is it that makes WWII such a popular scenario for video games? Is it the fact that it is recent, yet long enough ago to allow it to be used by popular media? Is it that it was as morally unambiguous a war as there has been? Is it the combination of weaponry and squad-level tactics? Or is it just the 'ding' noise from the M1 Garand as the clip is ejected? Whatever it is, WWII games have fallen out of favour in the last year or two. With the exception of the magnificent Company of Heroes, there's a sense among many gamers that we've “seen it all before”. There is possibly a seed of truth in this: WWII games have often borrowed heavily from film and television depictions of the second World War. Think of the Omaha beach landing in MOH:AA, and Saving private Ryan; or maybe Carentan in Call of Duty, and Band of Brothers. Perhaps this game-ifying of the silver screen's set-pieces, music and art has dulled our senses to something new and exciting from that era." ~driverheaven.net "The going gets even more ridiculous towards the end. The penultimate mission, Operation Varsity, is portrayed as a strike against a German munitions depot. History is bent a little bit here, as the 82nd Airborne never took part in Varsity; however, we'll just let this one slide, as there's better stuff to moan about. The German paratroop snipers in this mission make your life difficult by taking pot shots while you're landing, but the real whammy comes at the end of the mission, where you'll face a Pantzerzug armored train, and another boss enemy - the menacing Nazi Storm Elite." ~yougamers.com |
