A Closer Look:

The coloring on the Kingwin Z1 hard drive enclosure has a velvety-brushed look to it and gives it a very rich tone. This is done through an anodizing process to the aluminum housing. The end caps of the Kingwin enclosure are made of chromed plastic. One side of the housing features a plastic Kingwin emblem. One should note that due to the mirrored shape of the two plastic ends that the emblem could face either direction depending on how you install your drive.

At the front of the enclosure there is a smooth plastic face with the Z1 logo in the center. At the back of the unit you will find the USB connection, eSATA connection, power switch and power connection.

The bottom of the unit features two ribbings to help stabilize the external enclosure without the included stand. The top of the enclosure is shaped like a pointed dome. Due to the curved shape of this hard drive enclosure, you will not be able to stack these or place anything upon them if laid on their side.
