The Ultra aluminum hard drive cooler comes in only a vibrant anodized Blue color. Each of the four heat pipes that span across either side of the cooler are chrome in color. The frame of the cooler features a universal shape and will fit any 3.5” hard drive though I do not believe (as I don’t have one on hand to test) that the slim 3.5” drives will make full contact with the top cooling plate.
The top and sides of the cooler feature numerous machined fins. These fins help create additional surface area and aid in greater heat dissipation. The top cooling plate is held into place by four spring loaded screws to help ensure that maximum pressure is applied to the top surface of the drive.
The underside of this passive cooler features smooth surfaces on both the sides and top cooling plate. The four aluminum heat pipes connect to each side of Ultra’s cooler. They have a small amount of thermal paste applied and are held in by friction (though I was not able to pull them out).
