Installation:

To install your hard drive into the Ultra aluminum hard drive cooler, simply place your hard drive top down into the cooler. As you can see from this picture, the spring loaded top plate will push the hard drive out of the cooler and will not allow you to properly secure the drive. This is not a flaw but a side effect of the spring loaded top plate. I found it easiest to unscrew the top plate than to fight the stiff tension from the springs.

Once you have the top plate loosened, you can then secure the drive down with the included four screws. After this, re-secure the top plate making sure that you have even distribution of pressure across the top of the drive.

On the side of the unit, you will notice four more holes. These are for mounting the included anti-vibration extensions which make 5.25” drive bay installation possible. These can easily be hand tightened onto the cooler.

With two rows of mounting holes, you can mount these extensions to meet your installation height requirements. Ultra has included a grounding wire for this cooler which gets installed between one of the rubber extensions and then to the 5.25” drive bay.
