Packaging & Contents:

Our review sample courtesy of Tagan (these guys are great sponsors and deserve props) comes in its retail packaging via a black cube shaped box. This container is very well built and includes a handle if you feel the need to skip from the store to your vehicle! What you’ll find inside is a User’s Manual, a zip-up cable pouch and the Tagan BZ 1100watt PSU.

The User’s Manual is very well illustrated with lots of great photos in black and white. You will also find with the manual a coupon for $10 off any purchase from A.B.S. Computers with orders over $150. Not much, but we really like seeing spiffs with quality products. It makes the consumer feel good about investing in quality hardware.

The included cable pouch is made of tough nylon fabric and has many organizer loops and a couple mesh pockets. With the last review, we had mentioned that we really missed the included brown “PSU Briefcase” and this time around, the cable pouch really does make up for that. I can’t tell you how many times I have been running around tearing apart all my organized shelves looking for my modular PSU cables during a review!

First items included are the standard power cable and a few other items within a plastic zip-lock baggy. These items include a pair of nylon installation gloves, four Velcro cable organizers, a rubber anti-vibration PSU sleeve, an A.B.S. Certified case badge, 4-pin Molex to dual 4-pin mini-Molex adapter, four 4-pin Molex to SATA power adapters, and an installation screw driver. The included gloves are a neat idea but I am not sure they have a practical use. Aside from finger prints, there isn’t much else these gloves help with but they did happen to fit my meaty hands and should fit most everybody else’s hands.

Cable wise, the Tagan BZ series includes four PCI-E power cables (two red, two blue) featuring 6+2-pin configurations, a couple 4-pin Molex power cables and three SATA power cables. Interesting to note that if you convert the 4-pin Molex cable to SATA with the included adapters, you end up with not 12 SATA power connections, but 16 total SATA power connections!
