As you can see from these pictures, there are a lot of great ideas being implemented into this cooler. First off you will notice that there are two fans included with this cooler and they are in an over-under positioning. To accomplish this, there are four heat pipes running from the aluminum base to the “fin-box” at the top. The fans are then mounted to the shroud that covers the fins and you get the top fan sucking cool air into the fins while the bottom fan pulls the warm air out and back into the case. Another feature is that Glacial Cool has pre-sleeved the power lead with a black fabric/mesh.
From the side, you can see that this “fan-box” is simply supported by the heat pipes alone with no other help. During testing, we found that the PWM version had been bent downward during assembly/shipping/handling/whatever. This was easily remedied by gently pulling up on the “fan-box” to proper level. From the front you can see that the cooler has a finned base for added cooling of the base plate.
With the top fan removed, you can see that both fans are wired together and are not able to be easily separated. Looking down on the “fin-box” you can see the multiple aluminum fins along with the heatpipes running through.
