Page 4 of 7 A Closer Look: Before I get on with the review I should mention that the BlacX product is available in three different models. The ST0005U which supports all 2.5” & 3.5” SATA HDDs up to 1TB and has eSATA & USB 2.0 connectors. The N0028USU which supports all 2.5” & 3.5” SATA HDDs up to 1TB and has a USB 2.0 connector. And finally the N0029USU which supports all 2.5” & 3.5” SATA HDDs up to 1TB and has a USB 2.0 connector as well as a 4 USB 2.0 hub. I will be reviewing the N0028USU! When this product was released I thought to myself, "Why didn't anyone think of this before?". It's a very simple external HDD design that really works very well. There's a flip down door so a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA HDD can easily be inserted in and a release lever at the front middle as well as power LED & HDD access LED at the front right. You gotta like the cool BlacX branding as well! ![]() ![]() A peek inside reveals the SATA data connection and SATA power connection. ![]() At the back is the power button, power adapter connection and USB 2.0 connection (left to right). ![]() ![]() At the bottom are four soft rubber feet that have excellent anti-vibration properties. ![]() |
