"Sharkoon is presenting its new Home Digital HD-3 home theatre case, whose design and features make it the perfect living room PC. The user can assemble his own individual entertainment center using whichever components and operating system he likes, and the integrated vacuum-fluorescent display, remote control, and included iMON software offer diverse options for displaying information and operating the system. Measuring 435 x 148 x 460 mm (w x h x d), the HD-3 is compatible with pre-existing HiFi equipment, and the solid front plate of brushed aluminum gives the case an attractive look as well." ~sharkoon.com
Inside, there's room for an ATX mainboard and power supply, a 3.5" hard drive, an optical drive, and seven add-on cards. A card reader for all currently used card formats, a USB and FireWire port, and microphone and headphone jacks are all located in front. Where heat build-up and operational noises (for example the fan drone which is especially annoying in a living room PC) are concerned, Sharkoon has found a remedy: an air tunnel integrated into the side with a pre-mounted 80 mm fan draws the warm air out of the case. An additional 80 mm and two additional 60 mm fans can be installed in the back as well. Sharkoon also includes two passive coolers for the hard drive. The Home Digital HD-3 rests vibration-free on pads, which have been decoupled from the housing. The power supply (not included in delivery) is also mounted on vibration-muffling rubber feet. A handbook, remote control, iMON software CD, 5.25" drive bezel, ATX bezel, slot plate with cable feedthrough, two adhesive cable guides, and a set of mounting screws are all included in delivery.
