A closer look:
This PSU is the largest I've seen to date, measuring in at
23cm(L) x 15cm(W) x 8.6cm(H) and weighting in at 4.08kg (Dimension
Specs). Please note that power
supplies have to meet the ATX standard. This means that the
height and width are the same, although the length
can vary. The casing is steel and it has a matte black paint finish.
Cooling on this PSU is provided by a single 80mm fan.

Now, let's get back to the length of this PSU.
The average PSU is anywhere from 15cm to 18cm in length. See
the picture below to get a better idea of how large this PSU
really is! While it's
approx. 23cm long, you will need at least 25cm to
comfortably fit it inside the case. Because of this, be sure
that the case being used will accommodate this PSU.

While some Power Supplies have a few fans, or one large
120/135mm fan, this model has only one Delta 80mm
(32-40dB(A), 30-52 CFM ball-bearing). You may be
wondering how can one small fan keep a 1000W PSU cool under all
conditions? Well, if you recall from the specifications,
this PSU is extremely efficient. This means it will be
cooler than other lower end power supplies and not require
the same cooling.

Also, take a closer look at the pictures of the inside of
the unit below. You'll see the topology is unlike any other
PSU today. There are actually three independent power
modules that rectify the power from AC in to DC out. One is
for +3.3V and +5V. The other two are each for +12V.

Also,
there are plenty of ventilation holes to create a positive
air flow, assisting the cooling process. This is an auto switching power supply so
there is no need to adjust the voltage manually, since
115/230 is switched automatically.

This power supply has plenty of leads and they are all
sleeved.

Leads:
1- 24 pin Main Motherboard Lead
1- 4 Pin ATX 12V Motherboard Lead
1- 8 Pin EPS Connector
2- 6 Pin Video Card Lead (for PCI-E Video Card)
1- 4 Pin FD Lead (for Floppy drives)
8- 4 Pin Acc Lead (for HD, CD, DVD, etc)
6- SATA Power Lead
Adapters:
24-pin M/B to 20-pin M/B
8-pin CPU to 4-pin CPU (ATX12V)
4-pin DRIVE to 4-pin M/B (For 24, 8, 4-pin M/Bs)
Noteworthy here are the dual 6 pin PCI-E
Video Cards leads. This means two video cards can be
connected for an NVIDIA
SLI or
ATI CrossFire setup. Please note, this PSU is officially
NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFire certified. For your average consumer, dual 6 pin leads
are not that big of a deal. However, for a serious gamer it
most certainly is.
Please note: The SLI and
Crossfire 1KW models are identical in spec. They are
simply a different SKU# due to trademark agreements with
nVidia and ATI.
