Introduction:
First a
little about the company who makes this product,
AlphaShield Inc. This next blurb is from their
website:
"The Company was established in June 2000 as Saafnet Canada
Inc. (Saafnet), a privately held Canadian Corporation.
Saafnet began operations as a research and development
company that focused primarily on Network Security
Solutions with a specific goal of developing a Hardware
Internet security device. Saafnet initially developed a
functional prototype and filed its first patent application
in June 2001. Throughout 2001 Saafnet continued its market
research and product development while attending major
retail tradeshows. It gained immediate recognition by
winning awards based upon its patent pending technology,
which features a physical disconnection switch within the
hardware security device. During this market research and
product development phase, Saafnet licensed and added a new
technology component to the existing product which further
enhanced its security features. Todays product, known as
the AlphaShield, incorporates three powerful technologies:
the AlphaGAPTM (original Patent Pending technology),
Real-Time Packet Authorization (RPA), and IP Stealth. All
three technologies create the derivative works that are
solely owned by Saafnet and are submitted in our second
Patent application that was filed in the U.S., Canada and
internationally by PCT. In 2002, Saafnet launched its retail
market strategy and re-branded the company and its product
as AlphaShield." ~

Internet security is a big concern, and that's especially
true
today. With a growing number of people on high-speed
connections, it makes their computer(s) an easy target for
abuse by online crooks. These people are up to no good and
use systems for their own illegal activities. Such
activities include stealing personal information, uploading viruses,
phishing,
and
more. Some break into systems and use them to carry
out criminal acts. So, the smart thing to do, is to be protected
against these malicious attacks. Everyone with a PC should
have an antivirus, antispam, antispyware, and firewall
software installed. If not, 9 chances out of 10 your system
may be compromised. One software
program that I'm familiar with is
BitDefender, and
it has everything built-in, is easy to use, and is very
powerful. Always remember to keep security software updated.
It's best to find the program's auto-update feature and make
sure it's on. That way,
it will update automatically.
So all you need is an excellent security software package to keep you
100% protected, right? Unfortunately this is not the case. A
hardware firewall is strongly recommend these days to stop
hackers and other network attacks. A hardware firewall is the
first line of defense and will provide a vital level of
security. Today I'm looking at the AlphaShield Pro hardware
firewall.
