Introduction:

Albatron has built a reputation over the last few years as a great manufacturer of quality computer upgrades. They specialize in motherboards and video cards, but have branched out into flash storage and entertainment with their Widio product. On a surprising note (at least it was to me), Albatron also manufactures plasma, LCD and high definition monitors! Today we will be reviewing Albatron’s PC6600Q2 x16 PCIE video card supplied by Geeks.com.

” This NVidia GeForce 6600 PCI Express video card features 256 MB DDR memory and revolutionizes 3D graphics, setting new standards for performance, image quality, realism, and video functionality. This GeForce 6600 features Microsoft DirectX 9 shader model 3.0 which supports ultra-realistic images, and a superscalar architecture for unprecedented performance!”~Geeks.com

With all the new video cards out these days, why would we review an older product? Truth is, most home computer users can not afford a video card that pushes mid triple digit prices! The 6xxx series of video cards from nVidia have long been accredited with a great “bang for the buck” value and this is due to good reasons. With support for MSDX9, CineFX 3.0, UltraShadow II and OpenGL 1.5, the Albatron PC6600Q will appeal to any budget system builder looking for a video card under the $100 price range while at the same time being able to play most of today’s newer games. Let’s take a look…
