A Closer Look:
A quick look to the video card shows you that it is a full size video card, but not quite as big as the newer cards (those that are extended and take up two expansion bays). The PC6600Q2 comes with a single large passive heat sync and does not require a fan. Overclockers will like the fact that Albatron has still included the fan header for any 3rd party HSF upgrades to the video card. On the back side there are no included heat spreaders as all the memory chips are located on the front side of the PCB.

The included heat spreader is an all aluminum spreader and has many different shaped and angled fins for maximum surface area for cooling. The heat spreader practically covers the entire rear two-thirds of the 6600. This is where the GPU and DDR2 memory are located. The spreader is held into place by four plastic, spring loaded, “push-through” pins. These can easily be removed for replacement with any number of third party coolers.
