Introduction:
The name Thermalright brings to mind a company of innovation. Being one of the first to implement heat pipe technology in its desktop CPU coolers, Thermalright is always looking to improve on what they do best. Here is what they have to say about their newest cooler: “Like its little brother the Ultra-90, Ultra-120 also utilizes the winglet design helping to minimize air resistance and maximize wind air flow. But that’s where the similarity ends. Now you can strap on any 120mm fan and watch those high CPU temperatures go way down. With low fan RPM, it’s able to beat out any other brand of 120 mm HSF running at the same fan speed. If you think 3 dual heat pipes are something to wow about, wait till you hear about this one…how’s about a 4th dual heat pipe for a maximum heat transfer!! But that’s not all, due to the winglet design mentioned earlier; it also has greater surface area than our own SI-120 and XP-120. That translates into more cooling power than either of them. Doesn’t that just leave you speechless? What’s more important is that now you don’t have to buy separate versions, one for Intel and another for AMD because both platform’s (K8 and 775) installation hardware are included in each package, should you decide to switch from one platform to the other. How’s that for versatility, convenience, and performance? Yes, and it’s only from ThermalRight, your ultimate CPU cooling solutions provider.” ~Thermalright
Thermalright has always been partial on my heart. Ever since the days of my (still in use) AX-7, Thermalright has impressed with its innovative products. Today we are looking at the all new Ultra-120, all aluminum, CPU heat sink. Just the name alone, Ultra-120, gives you a heads up that this will be one Godzilla-ish cooler. The size is only the first half. The performance put out by this unit is just as impressive! |
