Packaging:

Thermalright ships their products in standard brown shipping boxes and instead of Styrofoam packing peanuts; they chose to recycle old paper shreds. Kudos to ThermalRight for thinking green! Out of the shreds, you find the standard Thermalright product packaging… a simple and sturdy brown box with the Thermalright logo on top; the model number on the side. The white box does not come standard with the Ultra-120. This package includes the optional mounting bracket for the AM2 socket family, but more of that in a bit.

Contents:

Included with the Thermalright Ultra-120 heat sink, is (clockwise, from top-left) the instruction manual, the Ultra-120 heat sink, two fan mounting brackets, six spring loaded socket retention screws (two for K8 and four for 775), two rubber strips with sticky backing, socket retention brackets (top: K8, middle: 775, bottom: 775 back-plate), Thermalright branded thermal interface and lastly a Thermalright case sticker. Now looking there, you notice that there is no retention bracket for the AM2 socket. This is what was included in the little white box. You can purchase the additional AM2 retention brackets from Thermalright. This includes (below the users manual and above the case sticker) the AM2 back-plate, four spring loaded socket retention screws, and the AM2 socket retention bracket.
