Page 5 of 6 Testing: The following was used during the testing of the Thermalright Ultra-120 cooler:
Enclosure: Ultra Aluminus Power Supply: Ultra X-Connect X2 550watt Processor: AMD 3000+ Sempron (Socket AM2) and AMD 3800+ X2 (Socket AM2) Motherboard: ECS C51GM-M Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2gig (2 x 1gig) DDR2 PC2-6400
I tested the Ultra-120 in two different situations. First I tested the cooler with a Panflow 120mm x 38mm DF1212BA (DF1212038BA-3) 105 CFM @ 44db (2600rpm). I also installed a Dynaeon 120mm x 25mm DF121225S1 as the rear case exhaust. This was meant to simulate a higher CFM in the case and across the cooler. I also tested the Thermalright cooler with just the Dynaeon on the Ultra-120 with no exhaust fan in the case. Lastly, I even tried the cooler with no fan or exhaust fan! Idle was represented with just a boot up into Windows XP with no applications running except for AVG and Temperature Software and ambient temperature was roughly 24°C. Let’s take a look:
