Packaging:
Geeks.com shipped the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 in a standard brown shipping box. This box was fairly big, reminding me of a computer chassis box, but it has its purpose. Geeks packages their products with plastic 'air pillows' and I must say that I really prefer this type of shipping!
A quick look at the retail box, you can see that the pretty stuff is all a sleeve for the real brown box that we have all come to know and love.
Contents:
Once you have removed all the contents from the retail box, you have the following (clockwise from the top-left): Drivers Disc, User's Manual, RF Receiver, USB to PS/2 Adapter, four Energizer AA Batteries, the Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 and finally the Wireless Comfort Keyboard. These series of wireless keyboards and mice can be bought seperately, but together they can be found at a better value. As of this writing, the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 can be found at Geeks.com for $49.99, where as the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 alone is found for $45.99; I am sure that most would rather add an additional five dollars to gain a wireless keyboard, especially since either item can operate with out the other!
