Well, I am a modder at heart, so curiosity of what lies beneath the Cooler Master crest and copper base got to me. I just had to find myself a Phillips screw driver! First I took off the Cooler Master crest plate revealing the top of the three copper heatpipes. These heatpipes have a grey thermal interface that helps transfer heat from the pipes to the fins. Removing the bottom was just as simple and was removed in a matter of seconds. The grey thermal interface was found here too.
With the three copper heat pipes out of the way, you can see the folds of the aluminum fins and the aluminum pins that hold them together.
Along with being able to see the pins that hold the fins together, you can also get your first look at the integrated 90mm fan! You can see from the picture that the fan is model #B9225-30CB-5UP-L1 and runs at 0.40A on the 12v rail. This may be helpful to know if the cooler’s fan ever fails.
