Introduction:

3dGameMan.com recently review the Crucial Anniversary memory modules. These kind of product releases show us the level of quality that Micron puts into their Crucial product line. Today we are reviewing the 2048mb (2 x 1024mb) Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400 memory modules. First, here is a blurb from Micron's website about their products:

"Micron offers DRAM, Flash memory, CMOS image sensors, other semiconductor components, and memory modules. All products are offered in multiple technologies, generations, configurations, and packages to meet the diverse needs of computing, server, automotive, networking, security, commercial/industrial, consumer electronics, medical and mobile applications. Micron currently provides synchronous DRAM (SDRAM), double data rate (DDR) SDRAM, DDR2, and reduced latency DRAM (RLDRAM® memory) architectures for use in various applications such as PCs, PDAs, MP3 players, servers, switches and routers. Micron also provides Mobile SDRAM and CellularRAM™ devices for consumer and mobile products. Micron's NAND flash devices target the removable storage, digital music player, and mobile handset products. Micron's CMOS image sensor solutions target the mobile handset, PC camera, PC video camera, digital still camera and emerging medical, automotive and security applications.

Micron's most recent product accomplishments include the launch of the industry's first image sensor to incorporate the MIPI CSI-2 standard into a one-quarter inch, 2-megapixel product. This innovation enables camera phones to capture richer, higher quality pictures in today's popular thin form factors. Driven by the need for increased speed, extended functionality, and reduced package size for 2.5G and 3G handsets, Micron also recently announced a new line of multichip packages (MCP) combing low power NAND flash and Mobile DDR featuring Endur-IC™ technology." ~Micron.com

Crucial is has been one of, if not the, top choice for stable and reliable RAM modules. The Crucial Ballistix line of memory modules are know for their reliability and flexibility. Often ample overclockers, Ballistix screams fast, but let's find out first hand!
