Taking a look at the contents, you see the expected, except for one thing. There are two small stickers included with the thumb drive. These labels have Toshiba’s name across the top and provide you with a few lines to write something. The packaging refers to these stickers as ‘Indexing Labels’, though I honestly don’t know what I would be writing on them. The stickers are just small enough to fit onto the drive itself, but are a bit tall and the edges will have to wrap down around the sides just a hair. This could cause the stickers to come up. Since I like my thumb drives nice and sleek, I will leave the labels off.
The TransMemory drive itself follows the ‘iPod-ish’ feel when it comes to looks. I very shinny white plastic with silver highlights. On each end of the drive you will find a loop. Either side of the drive will accommodate the included lanyard and is easily looped through.
The cap on this drive is very secure and has a nice clicking sound that verifies that the cap has been secured to the thumb drive. Though the cap is strong on this drive, I would suggest securing the lanyard to the drive side rather than the cap. Also seen below is the included USB 2.0 extension cable. This is very handy for those that do not have USB ports on the front of their case, or have them occupied. The extension cable is about three feet long.
In our testing, we will be comparing this drive to the popular PNY Attaché 1gig drive. Here are a couple of comparison shots of the two drives.
