Conclusion: The Toshiba drive has a great product here. The TransMemory thumb drive performs well but not as fast as the PNY drive. The Toshiba drive fell behind on almost every score between the two competitors. This was only by a slight margin however and would only be noticeable between the two when transferring large files at the same time on two computers side by side. For the average user, the Toshiba TransMemory 2gig thumb drive is a great and reliable product. With use in my daily work habits and travels, the drive stands up to the challenge. The cap is secure and reliable. The included lanyard was a comfortable length and detaches near the bottom for easy sharing. I would have liked to have seen an activity LED that mimics the transfer of data on the drive rather than just blinking on and off when it is active. I also would have liked to have seen some higher transfer speeds on the writing side. Though the drive is not extremely slow by any standards, it would be nice to see Toshiba step it up a notch. With a low price point and great features, this is definitely a great product! Our thanks go out to Geeks.com for providing 3dGameMan this sample for review.
