Looking at the Noctua fans, you will see that the power leads are fully sleeved. The sleeving is not the flex mesh that we are
used to seeing. Noctua has used a weeved fabric type sleeving that has a firm but flexible property to it. At the ends, there has
been rubber heat shrink applied. Over all, a great sleeving job by Noctua. These leads are also very long and will have no
problem reaching any of the power headers on your motherboard or PSU; also a very nice touch!
Taking a look around the NF-S12 series fans, you can see that they have a burgundy fan blade and hub. This is a very elegant color
and pleasing to the eyes. The outer shell is a very light salmon color. The plastic used is not shiny nor slick. It has a very
grippy and dense property that I have not felt in other fans before. I do not know what they have done different, but these fans
are heavier and more solid feeling than any fan that has come through our test system.
Taking a look at the NF-S12 fan blades, you can see that they are a very aggressive cut and they almost appear vertical. This is
due to the fan's lower RPMs and the aggressive design will allow more air flow than a more traditional design.
With the NF-S12-1200 and NF-S12-800 side by side, you can see that there is absolutely no difference unless you look at the label
on the hub mount. Here you can see the distinction between the 1200 RPM and 800 RPM models.
