Dissasembly:

I have this really bad habit of wanting to take things apart. As in many previous reviews, there was a screw driver that was itching to be used. First the hood, this simply comes off with a release of a couple of plastic tabs. In these pictures, you can clearly see the shape and opening at the top.

The fan is attached to the aluminum fins by four small screws. With these removed, the fan simple slides right out. From the shots below, you can see that the eleven fins of the fan are being retained by two different plastic rings. One ring is in the center of the fins and continues all the way to the hub of the fan. The second ring is on the outer edge of the fins and I can only assume that these are to prevent the fins from ever hitting the inner edges of the aluminum fins.

With the fan removed from the Eclipse cooler you can see the simplicity of the design. Twenty two 'O' shaped fins with twenty three snail shaped fins. Can you tell yet that I have dubbed this the 'snail cooler'...
