Introduction:
CoolIT Systems is fairly new to the PC Cooling market. Within the last year, they have really been making a name for themselves, even striking deals with some large manufacturers to have their sealed CPU water cooling units pre-installed in their enthusiast packages! The CoolIT Freezone and Eliminator water cooling units have recently been reviewed by Rodney and have both yielded Kickass ratings. One of the few downfalls to the CoolIT Systems sealed CPU water cooling units like the Freezone is that they cut down on chassis air flow. Removing the CPU fan can, in many cases, literally be taking away the most powerful fan in the entire chassis. To help prevent overheating components surrounding the CPU, CoolIT has come up with a couple accessories for the surrounding components.
Today we are reviewing one of the more popular choices in auxiliary cooling; the CoolIT RAM Fan. This unit is clip-on style fan for your passive DDR memory modules. Here are some key points to the CoolIT Systems RAM Fan from their site:
Provides direct air flow to cool RAM and motherboard components.
- Simple to Install
- Simply clips onto all standard DIMMs
- Plugs into any available fan header
- Cools The RAM
- Eliminates any risk of your RAM overheating.
- Provides the ultimate in overclockability.
- Cools Motherboard Components
-
- Provides direct airflow across the motherboard to cool heat sensitive components like the chipsets and voltage regulators.
Well let's stop sitting around and get to the review!
