With the CoolIT RAM Fan removed from its blister packaging, we find a very simple cooling solution. You have an aluminum frame with a 60mm x 60mm x 10mm fan attached to the bottom.
Flipping over the RAM Fan we can see the clearance provided by the aluminum "arms". These aluminum arms have a unique shape to them. They are shorter on side and angle up to the longer side. This creates air flow at a slight angle rather than straight down on the memory modules.
The RAM Fan comes with a two pin power lead at roughly eight or nine inches in length. At first I kind of figured that the length could use a bit more length, but what really got me was that there was only two wires. This means that there is no fan RPM monitoring. This is pretty standard these days and to pull the sticker back and see a possible third pin header available made me sad to see this missing.
