Page 5 of 7 Installation: Installing a standard 3.5" SATA hard drive into this unit is easy. First, remove the inside by gently sliding it out.
![]() Next, connect the hard drive. This is a snap because the SATA and Power cables are on the same adapter. Simply connect the SATA HDD to this adapter and then mount it to the metal frame using the included screws (2 on each side). I should mention that when mounting the HDD to the metal frame you will need to push the HDD forward. In doing so there is some pressure put on the HDD's connections. Be careful not to damage the HDD.
![]() Also, remember to connect the LED cables. Now, slowly slide it back into the main unit and secure it with the two included screws. ![]()
Connect the power adapter. Finally, connect the
eSATA connection or USB connection to your computer system.
If the eSATA cable is used the
eSATA Bracket
would need to be installed in the computer expansion slot at
the back. The included eSATA would be connected from the
unit to the bracket and then from the bracket to the
motherboard's SATA connection. If you wish to use the SATA
connect, you will need to have a motherboard with a SATA
connection or purchase a PCI SATA card. |
