The Enclosure Accessories: The enclosure comes packed in a plain OEM box. This box states all the usual USB2.0 specs. Once opened, the contents are well secured with cardboard cutouts. The enclosure itself is wrapped in a basic anti-static bag.    The external USB enclosure contains the 3.5” hard drive enclosure, an external power brick and standard power cable, a User’s Manual, an USB cable, a plastic base to hold the enclosure upright, mounting screws, a small Phillips screw driver, and a mini-disc with drivers for Windows 98 and Mac OS.  The included accessories are pretty standard and needed for operation. A standard USB cable is included, though a bit short for many desktop applications. The power brick is something we have come accustom to with external hard drive enclosures. I was happy to see a standard power cable jack rather than a proprietary, oldly shaped power chord that is hard to replace when damaged or lost. Once powered up, this brick has a green LED to let you know its working.     The included base is made of grey plastic and is very light. The stand simply slides onto the bottom of the drive and gives basic vertical support to the drive. The included driver’s disc was on a mini-disc. Now, I understand this saves money and all, but if you are a user with a slot-loading Rom drive, this would be useless. The included User’s Manual is pretty basic with plain text instructions and really only had to do with the software side of things.    |
