The Enclosure: The actual enclosure is made up of a aluminum housing with grey plastic end caps. One the top, you have what I like to call, the OEM Descriptor labeling. Pretty much telling you what the product is without a hint of the manufacture’s name. On the bottom, you have four mounting holes for the hard drive to be mounted to. On the sides, there is some ribbing. I want to say that this is for better heat dissipation, but I am sure it was just for aesthetics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The front cap of the enclosure is just plain smooth plastic with four mounting screws. The back plate has the same four mounting screws with the addition of the USB port, power switch and power plug. ![]() ![]() The enclosure opens up simply with two of the screws removed. The enclosure then slides open. This gives you two halves; one to mount to and another to cover with. ![]() ![]() Once open, you can see the multiple connections inside. The enclosure has a data and power connection for both the SATA and IDE interfaces. This gives you tremendous flexibility, but at the cost of not having a native SATA controller onboard. ![]() |
