Installation: With the enclosure opened, you can now set the drive into the bottom enclosure and connect the appropriate headers. In this case the SATA data and power headers are used. At this point, we ran into some problems. As the enclosure was shipped, the header plate was mounted to the wrong side and the hard drive would not line up once connected. A simple switch of plate locations and everything fit fine. In communication with Geeks, they have informed their technical team and the manufacturer of this issue. They did not find others like this sample, but just in case you get one that doesn’t seem to go together easily, try flipping it around! Once this is done, you can easily screw down the hard drive from the bottom with the included screw driver. ![]() ![]() ![]() One other thing I noticed with this header plate was that the power leads we not very tight and came off a couple of times during the installation. These were easily placed back onto their posts, but check before you close her up, otherwise you might just get nothing when you go to power it up! ![]() Once everything is connected and secured, you can then slide the cover back on and secure it with the two remaining screws. ![]() ![]() ![]() Now that you are ready to go, you can place it in its plastic vertical stand. The base did not go on very easy and did take a bit of wiggling to go on. At first we thought this was just a really snug fit and it wasn’t going to come off when we moved it across the desk. Well it turned out that it was just too tight and the base broke in half. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
