A Closer Look:

As mentioned before, the included power cord is an international version to which it has the European style plug with a Western style adapter. The included User’s Manual is in black and white and goes through a basic run down of how to install a hard drive and use the Eureka’s GUI.

The two screws that are included have a nice black finish to them as they actually go on the outside of the unit to secure the back plate to the Eureka drive. Out of the packaging, the back plate is not installed. The inside of the back plate has a foam anti-vibration pad. This was a nice touch to help with the vibration from a vertical drive.

The Eureka enclosure has a nice black finish to it. I would doubt that this would be an eye sore on the entertainment center. The front has chromed plastic buttons for manual operation and the left side has the Eureka name and description.

On the front, you have the power, hard drive activity and media activity LED’s. When lit, the power LED is red, the hard drive activity LED is orange, and the media activity LED is green. Under these, you have the power button. Under the power button you have the menu, stop, play and OK buttons. Below these, you have the value up, value down, back and forward buttons.

Working your way to the right, you will notice again that the back plate is not installed. This is where you will be installing your 3.5” IDE hard drive. On the back you will find plenty of ventilation holes, what appears to be a small 30mm fan for internal cooling, an optical-out, composite and S-Video video outputs, component outputs, left and right composite audio-out, and 1/8” external IR jack (not included), the power jack, and the USB2.0 jack.

On the bottom of the LX351, there are four small rubber feet. These again help remove vibration from the high RPM’s from the internal hard drive.

The included remote control is pretty feature packed and has a lot of useful shortcuts for the Eureka GUI.
