Installation:

To install the hard drive, turn the Eureka LX351 unit with the drive bay exposed. You will find a single 80-conductor, 40-pin IDE cable and a single right-angle 4-pin Molex. You will simple just need to plug these into the proper headers on the IDE drive. Please remember to check your jumper settings on the hard drive as they will need to be set on either Master or Cable Select. Our thanks go to Geeks.com for supplying a Seagate 7200.10 200gig IDE hard drive for use in this review.

Now you will need to place the back plate on the enclosure and snap it into place. Once secure, then take the two included mounting screws and screw these down snuggly. You will need a flat-head screw driver to accomplish this. I would have liked to see a Phillips style screw used as that is what is common with most computer accessories, but really isn’t anything to complain about.

Now that you have the entire drive installed, you will need to plug in the USB cable to the Eureka enclosure and your computer. Power up the LX351 and wait a while. The LX351 will not recognize lightning quick like most USB devices. It took my computer about fifteen seconds before the system tray notification popped up. If you install a new hard drive, it will not be recognized by windows right away. You will have to go into your administrative tools and initialize and format the disk before it will be ready to use. Below are the screen shots from our test installation:
