The Cooler:

This NHP-2200 cooler from Nexus is an all copper cooler including a single copper heat pipe. It weighs in at 114.5 grams and sits 63.3mm tall and 46mm deep/wide.

The NHP-2200 comes with twenty round copper fins that have a mirror like finish. Interesting to note is the fins have a ying-yang type stamp applied to them. I don’t know if this was on purpose, but interesting none the less. The fins are connected to the single heat pipe by solder and then the heat pipe is connected to the base, again by solder.

Screwed down over the top of the base and heat pipe is a copper plate featuring six thick machined fins. This piece of copper is what allows the mounting plates to be held to the cooler while at the same time allow for continued heat transfer from the base. The cooler’s base comes with a standard base film for protection during shipping.

With the protection film removed you can see the two mounting screws for this Nexus cooler. These are recessed and do not make contact with the chipset. The base itself is smooth to the touch, but if you look close, there is what looks like brushing grooves. As polished as the rest of the cooler is, I can only assume that this was done on purpose. This obviously puts Nexus on the non-lapping side of the base lapping debate, but none the less, their research probably backs up this choice.
