Conclusion

UPDATE: After the completion of this review, we were informed that the 'blue' triangles were actually silver in color and that there was a blue protective film in place. During review of this product, I had tried to remove the film, but just like the sticky film of th window, it was kinda difficult to get off. This on top of the film being precisely cut to the shape of the triangle, I figured it was supposed to be blue. In the third picture below, you can see that one of the silver pieces came off. This was not done on purpose, but shows the adhesiveness of the film and the lack of adhesive on the backing of the silver triangle pieces. The forth picture shows the actual mounting hardware for the window. This hardware has a square shape to it, but the plastic triangle pieces are a bit smaller than the hole, so when tightened, they follow the motion of the screw driver, thus creating the tilting effect that was seen on the side panel. This is easily fixed, but something that should really be at the factory.

Sigma was a completely new company to me when I received their product in the mail. At first glance the product has a lot of class. This was quickly off set by the plastic triangles on the side panel! I could really see this case in an office setting or a vertical HTPC, but the plastic triangles will most likely throw off a buyer. These can simply be replaced with some nice screws, rivets, or LED screws for those with any kind of screw driver skills.

The case has a lot of great features. The all black scheme of the case is breath taking. The modding possibilities are great and the front simply screams ‘sha-wing’. I could definitely see taking out the silver aluminum and replacing it with some plexi or a bubble tube. Over all, this case only has a few downsides. The door does not stay shut at all times. The magnet used is too weak for the job. The triangles are functional for holding the window in place, but the implementation should have been thought over a bit more. The last thing is that the side panels did not fit perfectly. They stuck out the back a bit and with the folding latches creating the bend in the back lip, this made closing the panels a bit awkward.

The incredibly light structure always is welcome and the all aluminum, all black, build makes this a Great case. Our thanks goes out to Sigma for sending us this Luna case for review.
