Hands on:
Before I even turned this LCD on, I feared it would have
dead pixels. Years ago, so many dead pixels were supposed to
be tolerated and many LCD companies/reseller would not
replace the LCD. Having a display with dead pixels is in my
opinion utterly unacceptable. Not only do you feel like you
got ripped off, but it's incredible distracting.
Well, I glad that there were no dead pixels on this display.
I can't tell ya what a relief this was.
Using the
DVI cable, I connected this monitor to
the video card, attached the power cable and powered the unit
on. When installing any new display remember to turn off your computer
system. This way the operating system will recognized the monitor
correctly and install the appropriate drivers. After
turning it on the
first thing I had to do was select the DVI input. When
booted into windows I selected the 1920x1200 resolution.
This will ensure you are getting the most out of the
display.
This display produces a bright, sharp, clear image in
everything. I've been using this display now for a week and
have testing it with photographs, movies and games.

With a viewing angel of 178
degrees on the horizontal and vertical, it's viewable from
almost any angle. Please remember though that like other LCDs,
this one is best
viewed straight on.

The text quality was excellent as you can see from the
images below. Since many of us probably spend most of our
free time browsing 3dGameMan, it's a good thing ;)

I almost forgot to mention that this display has Picture In
Picture (PIP). The PIP feature allows S-Video and Composite
connections only though. The PIP can also be resized to small, medium or
large. FYI: That's my daughter in the images below. It's
clear to see she doesn't get her looks from me ;) She's a
beauty, just like her Mom.
