"So you're getting that horrible framerate with the Lost Planet demo under Windows Vista or XP? We're here to help you. There are a few good steps to follow in order to improve it. If you're running Windows XP check here if you have the latest DX9 redist and then be sure you use the latest drivers around, meaning this one or this one depending on the Windows XP version you're using. If you're running Windows Vista download and install one of the 158.43 drivers, depending on which version of the OS you're running. The Lost Planet demo may try to enable Anti-Aliasing 4X and Anisotropic Filtering 16X by default, so check the in-game video settings. Tweaking shadow quality, shadow resolution, effect quality, effect resolution, texture resolution and lighting quality, as well as HDR can also be beneficial for your framerate. If you want to run the DX9 demo of lost Planet under Windows Vista, just install the DX9 redist from the link above. Happy freezing!" ~gamershell.com
