A Closer Look:
Taking a closer look at the Logisys Acrylic power supply, the entire casing is made of non-colored clear acrylic. The surrounding casing is 2-3mm thick and the mounting and cable plates are made of 5mm acrylic for durability. The back is home to a power switch, voltage selector, Blue LED 80mm exhaust fan, and a place to plug in the power cord. The front of the Logisys power supply has thirteen ventilation slots routed out of the cord plate along with available space for the power leads to pass through. As this plate is made of routed acrylic and not sharp steel, there is no need for a grommet around this pass-through.

From the sides you can see that there is nothing special located here necessarily, but you do have quite the view of the inner components. The right hand side shows off the two medium sized capacitors and the cooling plate. The left hand side shows off all the wires being soldered to the PCB. From this shot you can also see that Logisys did not clean up their cable sleeving very well and just left a single white zip-tie and frayed mesh.

The bottom of the acrylic power supply is home to another Blue LED 80mm fan for bringing in cool air. On the top (backside of the inner PCB) is the power supply’s specification sticker. We can see that this unit has a total of 550 watts of total power output. This is obviously not for the hardcore gamer with dual video card setups. This power supply however could most definitely cover all bases for basic computer and moderate gaming.

The included power cables are covered by neon Green mesh and have matching neon green power connections. These are very vibrant and bright though the images do not do them justice! One of the features that this power supply notes is extended power leads. This is very true. These cables are fairly long. This could be good for a tall tower style case, but if you are going to place this in a smaller acrylic cube, this could be an issue as they are not modular thus not removable.

The Logisys Acrylic power supply has six standard four-pin Molex connectors and two SATA power connections for hard drives and optical drives along with a single floppy power lead. The motherboard’s ATX power lead comes in a 20+4 pin configuration for compatibility. This power supply has a single four pin motherboard lead and only a single six pin VGA power lead. This makes using multiple current video cards impossible without a second power supply. A bummer for sure, but if you are using this PSU, it is more than likely for an acrylic, single VGA card, system.
