Yup, new breadcrumbs. There are a few quirks we are working out, but for the most part, they should be useful in most areas of the site (including forums) ;) Please report any broken pages etc if you find any.
Could we have the section guide (e.g. "Home >> Other Off Topics >> Comments") both above and below the forum page as it was in the old? I've found that after posting, I'm wearing out the scroll wheel on my mouse to get back to the top!
I have played with that, but it just never 'fits' right... all comments/forums have a 'top' link on the left of every comment. I personally use my scroll-click and shoot to the top real quick if I need to navigate away from anything...
Will you be putting in non-Flash-based ads next to 3DGameMan.com logo for browsers that don't have Flash installed? Internet Explorer 9 is my default browser and I have ActiveX filtering turned on so that I won't be asked to install Google Flash. The only browser that I watch videos is with Chrome.
It'd be nice to watch videos that don't require Flash, probably with WebM, although the HTML5 spec is still not finished, so in the meantime, I use Chrome for watching videos (I've joined the HTML5 Beta Trial for YouTube and watch videos without requiring Flash, but then there are videos that do require Flash, but that's no big deal).
Grayson: The ads you are referring to are sponsor ads. They provide us with the ads so doing non-flash ads in that location will probably not be a regular occurrence.
Okay. I'll try to do whatever I can to help support 3DGameMan. Thanks.
There's still no way I can access the user settings option so I can like change my sig or something like that. Or is it hidden somewhere?
for the homepage, I would like to have a button or something to manual scroll down topics. sometimes i see a topic i like and it goes away before i click it.
You can visit http://www.3dgameman.com/user to modify your settings. ;)
If you are referring to the forum topics, it was scroll four times and then repeat. Also, if you place your cursor of the box, it will pause until you move your cursor away (same for the featured area). I'll see what we can do about adding some buttons.
There are disabled users out there that have limited motor control or maybe quadrapalegics.

I've encountered two errors by 6:04 AM EST:
What page/what were you doing when experiencing these errors?
I forgot to mention that I was in the comment section of the forum during that time before I post. But now, the error message seems to went away. It could be a glitch, though.
Just had the same error. I saw it when I was logged out. But when logged in it seemed to be gone.
I get those once in a while, they might be related to old cache, refreshing normally makes it go away. We need more Zach time on 3GM, but its been a long hot summer.
So I've come back to the site to poke around a bit after an absence of a few months. I had to DIG through this very thread to find a way to tweak my sig and user settings. It's been nearly 2 years; are we EVER getting a CP/user link somewhere?
If I've missed something obvious, then point it out to me. Otherwise, having to dig through the forums to an old thread (that I only vaguely remembered the info was in this thread from last time) to find how to fix or change my personal settings is just bad times.
Well, I got this when viewing the comment section of the forum:
Quote:
When going to the "hardware" section of the forum is says
"Page not found
The requested page could not be found."
Back again and why is this in my way this time whenever I post?

This pops up when the filter 'feels' like you have habit of posting questionable material... it's nothing personal ;) I've added you to the 'whitelist'...
Is there a "Mark all forums read" button in the main forum page? I know about the "Mark posts read" in the individual forums but having a universal one to clear all new posts would be nice.
Thanks,
Ben
Sweet, thanks Zach! :D
Wow... So many errors:

I've created a thread and wanted to add something more to my post: http://www.3dgameman.com/forum/hardware/hp-pavilion-dv7-6165us-qvc
we should gat a live chat room lobby
Yea, that's something I've wanted for a while now and it will hope one day get done.
I might be able to help with that. Somewhere around here I have a iframe dealy-bopper widget I wrote a long time ago, just takes text pokes (with username) at the bottom, and loads comments in individual fields above in the "chat window," and it works real lean and clean. I'll see if I can find it, shouldn't be hard to adapt it to the site style.
Oh, can we make quoted text BOLD, as this would help in separating it from the following post? And also, add a forced space following the colon? I haven't gotten to see anything on the dev side, so I don't know the tools you are using.
Is there still a thread where we can discuss about Rod's computer system? From http://rodsrig.com/, the link to that thread broke.
I cant believe after all this time the forum is still not nearly as it was before the crash...
And can anyone check on the quoting system? The GUI for it looks like as if someone wrote it manually without its usual quote-styling.
