OMG LOL
My mom found today an LG Neon on the Train
We tried calling the owner's dad but he won't answer.
Should I keep it or what?

Do what you think is right :).
Take it to a service shop for the cell brand it's connected to. They can find the owner for you.
Don't keep it, it would be stealing.

bah. You're supposed to tell him to do what he thinks is right, and hope that he picks the good path :P.
LOL...
But my phone (Nokia N95 8GB Edition) got stolen 3 months ago. Maybe this is the replacment?
IDK...I might give it back. Probably would because we already called the owner's dad and he has our phone number.
But we will see.
Well, you decide :).
- Should you get it back to the rightful owner :Beer :banana
or
- Finders keepers, losers weepers :taunt :bootyshak
Let us know :).
If we don't get a call back then we will keep it.
If we will then they are welcome to come and get it back.

I've got my own kids. I've learned to be mean when giving directions! :Wink

I agree. Its a hard decision to make. The phone is pretty nice. If you give it back to its rightful owners, he or she might just pay you some cash or treat you some food.
Maybe the owner's a millionaire who doesn't care where his money goes, and he gives you $1000 just for bringing it back, even though he could've easily bought another.
If I was that rich, I'd be doing that xD. I'd also be riding in trains, they're much more fun!
Look at it this way. If you lost your phone, how would you feel? Would you want the person who found it to keep it?
Of cause we want them to return it to us. But if you really lost your phone, the person who found it would most probably keep it.:mad
Return it.
Keeping it would be stealing, whether they left it accidentally or not; you'd still be keeping something that doesn't belong to you and that is stealing.
Your phone was stolen/lost, I understand you being upset about that - however, keeping someone else's phone isn't right either. "Two wrongs don't make a right."
Let me put it this way -
if a cop sees him with the phone and the phone is reported stolen, he goes to jail.
It's theft. There is no gray area here.
He found property that isn't his. He should either contact the owner or hand it over to the local authorities if the owner cannot be contacted. If the owner contacts the police and says "hey my phone went missing/was stolen", I'm sure they have phones that have been turned in and they'd ask him (the owner) what kind of phone it is, what it looks like, etc. and to come down and bring proof that it's his phone.
I'm not trying to be a hard@$$ but it's the truth. If you have something that doesn't belong to you, it's your responsibility to return it.
If you see an empty car idling with the doors unlocked, would you steal it when the owner is not there? Same logic applies here.
In some states (in the USA, that is) that is illegal. :)
and no, I would not steal it.
This whole thread concerns me that society may be taking a turn for the worse if we are discussing things like this.
Not yours=not yours, try to get it back. No discussion.
Well...I didn't stel it. If it would been left on the train someone would have sold it for drugs. Thats how it goes in Vancouver. And I did try to give it back. But if you can't take care of your sh*t then don't expect someone else to bring it back to you. And it's very easy to preech morals. Do you report all of your crimes? Do you download torrents? Thats a crime too. Someone is actually loosing money of this. And don't tell me you don't download torrents.

Ummm... Who are you talking to? We didn't say you stole it, you found it. You asked us what to do and we said the proper thing to do is find the owner or a way to get it back to them. Cell phones slip out of pockets, etc. so don't imply they don't care about their stuff. You can take it back to the cell phone carrier and I bet they could figure it out for you.
No one is preaching morals, we are just preaching what is proper. And BTW, I don't download torrents because it is illegal. I am raising two kids and it is really important that they learn right from wrong. Downloading illegally is not the "right" thing to do. Also, I am old enough to know that people work hard for their stuff and on things like programs and deserve to receive compensation for them.
Relax and don't take things personally, but realize you asked what you should do and most of us said "return" it.
did you call the dad from the lost ph or your ph?
Return the phone n00b. I bet you didn't like when your phone got stolen so why do it to someone else? As a matter of fact, why are you even asking such a question?
Also, this phone is complete crap anyways, return to owner or at least try to.
calm down duke nukem
lol stop trolin and get on with your life
