hey i do door to door stuff part time and i was wondering to get your opinion
do you usually open the door for salesman or canvasers?
if no why not? (and dont give me an answer like "im not intrested in anything")
I might be in my underwear or playing a video game and don't want to be bothered with magazines or someones God. Personally I don't trust sales people because I know their goal is only to make money. If wanted whatever it was that they have to sell me.. I would have knocked on their door and not the other way around. My home is my sanctuary and anything that invades that space is seen as an annoyance. And yes I am watching you from the peep hole and waiting for you to leave.
I have a "No Soliciting" sign, I'll leave it at that :/

Ditto. We live right across the park from the University of Nebraska campus, so we get FILLED with solicitors. Putting up that sign brought it down to girl scouts (cookies) and boy scouts (popcorn).
Maybe they should make a sign that says "No Soliciting: But Girl Scouts Welcome". I could go for some cookies right about now.
Hey, got a girl scout in the family! Want me to send some over? (Payment required... I don't get freebies!)
Funny thing is, back in the day (1 million years ago) I sold kids books and also vacuums door to door, IT SUCKED, so I QUIT.
@Tivon "And yes I am watching you from the peep hole and waiting for you to leave."
lol so true...i find that a lot of people do that it's really creepy sometimes...
so Rodney your an ex salesperson but you have a no soliciting sign?
Once a sales person, always a sales person.
Rule #1: CONTROL THE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE SALE
Having a "No Solicitors" sign controls the environment perfectly, as in there is no better way to say "I will not buy anything from you so don't waste your time!"
Yes, I too was a salesperson back in the day, back when there were still commission-paid jobs in computer sales. I was the man you wanted to see if you wanted a PC.
