yea but my point and click does have a manual focus on it but not the focus ring u have to manual focus it though the menus

I used a 300mm lens and the widest (low number) aperture it had. The combination of the magnification and the wide aperture made the area that is in focus, front to back, very small. That way, the background turned out blurred and only the flowers were in focus. You can see some of that effect in the first picture too. It's just not as extreme.

I could have focused manually, but that was shot with autofocus. That's one of the benefits of a DSLR. You can see in the viewfinder what you are focusing on. That's not so easy with a 2.5" LCD.

What kind of a camera do u have? Probably not DSLR, lol.

From what I see, he uses.... A Sony DSC-P200 and is using Adobe Photoshop Elements software

Thats the cam my sister uses. It's not a very good cam for photographic shots. My sister only uses it for snaps. It's not the worst cam though.

i had a sony DSC-P93 was good at the time but i have a pentax A30 realy good point and shot

Yesterday my mom came in with the mail and showed me a letter from pictures.com. One of my waterdrop pictures got into the semi-final of the great anual amateur photgraphy competion. It will even be published in a book called "Endless Journeys". I still can't believe it. Already with 15 being published in a photography book.

No. On Pentax cameras, that is called "Shake Reduction". It is image stabilization that is built into the camera, not the lens. It offsets to some degree the movement of your hands and the movement of the camera when you push the shutter button. It doesn't help if your subject moves. (see my pics below for a visual aid)

The first is of a hummingbird. The little devils don't sit still. It's obvious that SR couldn't deal with its movement. Only a faster shutter speed would do that.

For something that doesn't move so fast, SR does pretty well. This is an Eastern Towhee I shot handheld. See the difference.

u can have muilt row as well so if ur taking a picture of some think big u can get a bigger megapixel picture as well as i did that 1 with my 10mp camera and made it 56 megapixels
