bad company 2 slow load suggestions

I currently own a Gateway FX series laptop, and right now I'm trying to play bc2 but.... however my load time is ridiculously slow. = [

my laptop specs are 2.2 Ghz, Core 2 Dou. and 3.00 GB of RAM

The specs for bc2=

 OS: Windows XP
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: 256 MB Video Card (GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900)
DirectX®: DirectX 9, 10, and 11 support
Hard Drive: 15 GB

(Btw for people who play bc2 and have the black screen issue; u just need to defrag ur game. [gamebooster worked for me])

Would a SSD make his load times faster?

I'm not really sure what your specs are, is it just me? ATI or Nvidia? 2gb or 3gb of memory?

Try editing the settings.ini in your docs, change DXVersion from auto to 9, 10 or 11.

Try turning down some settings. I'm not sure if it helps, but I heard it might.

I have turned down all the settings for the game but when i load a map it just takes a really long time... I'd say about 2 minutes per map. although i have loaded all the maps more than once and still no increase of speed of the loads. but i have been doing a little "googleing" and i did find that i do have NVIDIA and they have said that there will be an update for the slow loads, so when the update comes out then i will have to find out if it really does.

install the 10.4 ATI drivers, since im sure thats what is causing your problem, it was an issue of how dx11 textures where loaded in the game causing it to slow down alot, 10.4 drivers fixed it

if however this is not working, force your game to direct x 9.
