I would love to know how the cooler disposes of the heat. Does it blow it out the rear? or extract heat from the heat sink and just dump it in your case?

it dumps it all in ur case, the only way to get it all out the back is with a blower style cooler
Well some hot air might get pulled out from the back. Even though most will get dumped inside the case, the rear case fan could assist proper hot air dumping. If you have one or more top outtake fans in the case it'll be very helpful.
okay, thanks I guess I should get a card that blows air out the back because I am wanting to put on into a shuttle.
yes i think that would be the best decision. if you dont have enough case cooling power to have an aftermarket cooler on your card then all of that heat put off inside the case can effect other components like the CPU and HDDs
