Hi, I am planning to get 1TB of HDD but if it stops working i will loose all 1TB data, so i have decided to go for 2*500GB HDD. confused which company of HDD to buy Seagate, Westren Digital or ?? Please suggest... Regards Roshan
i have had nothing but good things from western digital and a 50/50 of dead and alive HDDs from seagate so i would choose WD. if your concerned about your 1TB HDD dying on you and loosing all of your data you could run a RAID1 configuration, this mirrors your drives to eachother so if one drive fails you still have an exact copy of it, of course its a little more expensive though
i personally own two 1 TB western digital sata 3 hdds.
WD is very quiet and reliable. also cheap as sata 3 is only a 30dollar adder than the sata 2.
Western digital has a A++ in my book. but if you're not strapped by money, i would go with a Raid1 configuration.
But hey, theres the obvious option to choose from that everyone i know would recommend in a heart beat, and its probably one of the cheapest (safest) way to go. Get an external hard drive and back up all your important files and stuff it somewhere, where it cant get hurt. that way, if worse comes to worse, you can go ahead and plug that in and have all your important files.
