Hi, I am building a computer for multitasking only, no gaming. I have the OS, all acessories, monitor, and dvd drive. My budget is around $420. I may wait a little longer to extend my budget... I am using newegg, btw.

What about gpu....
Cut the 965-get a 955 it is the same thing
I am more concerned about cpu and ram. Onboard graphics should be enough. I will not be doing any gaming so I don't see the need for a gpu...
What ARE you doing then?
Did you read my post? I said multitasking, no gaming. Running a lot of programs at once.
in that case, try a Phenom II x6 1055T
this processor will be better for multitasking then the quads
or if you really want to step it up, or possibly overdo it than you can go for an i7
Yep, get either a 955 or 1055T. Since you're multitasking a lot the 1055T seems to suit your needs best.
Define mutli-tasking please-
Are you encoding video, browsing, or what?

All the above, sorry for not being specific. Wow I just noticed the 955 is like 10 bucks cheaper and only .2 ghz slower lol thanks guys!
Onboard is 100% garbage whether you use your computer for gaming or just browsing... It slows down your PC. Not only that but windows looks like crap. Movies look grainy and run choppy as well as youtube videos.
You really cant spend $99 or less to get a DX10 video card?

Umm.. I'm using onboard graphics right now and its not as bad as you say lol. I don't have the money right now for a graphics card.
onbaord is not 100% garbage. My onboard was a 4200 which can do 720p just fine. Don't expect 1080p though.
Also video-encoding is much slower without GPU help.
Ok well what is a good and cheap gpu?
Well 5750 or if you find a $50 gt 240 would be good
Ok thanks man
Except for the CPU and GPU(or lack of it) everything is perfect.
