I am having a hard time finding a desent cpu cooler fitting in this or the nzxt tempest evo case. without spending more than 50.00 bucks for the cooler. from my understanding this cooler got really good ratings and works well is the first reason i picked it. The second reason i picked this cooler it matched my theme with the blue led fan. any help would be apreciated in this setup fyi it will be cooling a 965 be for a clients pc build.
The case is Dimensions(L x W x H) 19.61" x 8.43" x 19.53".
Heatsink Dimensions 140.8 x 50.8 x 158 mm
158mm = 6.22 inches.
It can't be more than 1 inch for the motherboard standoffs, motherboard, grid array and CPU. = 7.22 inches at most. Maybe a little room for the motherboard tray if it has one taking it to 7.43" max. That gives you about 1 inch of play with the side doors on and no side fans. *update* minus the space the side doors use is about a half inch and that gives you less than a half inch of play.
My Tt V9 case is only 8.19" wide and I have a Cooler Master v8 that is 158mm tall and it just barely fits without the side door fan installed. I'm guessing that 158mm might be a limiting factor that these giant coolers try to stay within?
thanks dude i just have a hard time with conversions.. i have standard rulers and no metric ones. Just from what i looked and tryed to guess at i thought it was gonna be a tighter fit than that thanks again jared
Just to confirm my measurements. I forgot to minus space for the side doors, that's another half inch. This thread has this case and the person installed a Cooler Master V8 with the same 158mm height.

"I have an oversized cooler and it fit with room on all sides. In my last case it was a tight fit with the top of the CPU cooler pretty much touching the case door."
That was the same issue I had and it's probably the same for your cooler and case as well. It's going to be a tight fit but it will work.
wow that is a monster cooler! thanks for posting this i feel more confident about this cooler lol
