Monitor going black

Suddenly, my monitor has started to go black for a few seconds.

It started while playing battleifeld 2. Happened about 3 times in 1.5 hours. Black screen for 2-3 seconds then it comes back. Its very weird. Not sure if its a video card problem or monitor problem. It also happened while out of game once which brings me to these forums for help.

There is activity (im moving the mouse and such). And the monitor under the power options is set at 20 minutes as it has been for over a year now and it has laways only gone black screen when theres no activity.

I have no idea what to do. No idea what could be causing it.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. If that's not the problem then there's either something wrong with the video card or monitor. Try using your on-board video (if you have on-board video)instead of your video card. If the problem persists, it's probably the monitor.
