Im looking at buying an alienware computer and not sure if i should go with the Dual 1GB GTX 460 or Dual 1GB GT 545. Can someone let me know some of the big differences between them and is the GTX 460 is worth the extra money.

You could build your computer instead and get a GTX 560 TI or even a GTX 570. Both cards are vastly superior and building your own PC will give you so much more bang for the buck.

If you're still bent on buying a prefab (eww), then the GTX 460 will easily outperform the GT 545.

As above I would generally recommend building your own. Alternatively, it is still more cost effective to buy your own parts and then have a computer store assemble them for you if you aren't confident to do so yourself.

But as for your questions, GTX460 > GT545.
