Hi
Is a heatsink on a video card memory necessary if im not overclocking?
Thanks
It depends on the memory itself. Does the card come with cooled memory?
The card is: Asus ENGTX560 DC/2DI/1GD5 (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/ENGTX560_DC2DI1GD5/)
It does not seem to have heatsinks on the memory, should that be a problem?
That card should be like that, no problem there.
Well, in some cases it could be a problem, depending on the GPU baseplate. If this plate is a little close to the memory it might not allow memory heatsink. Also the plastic part of the cooler might be a problem. You'll have to inspect where you want the memory heatinks to go.

Well, im not planning on putting heatsinks on the memory, my question was will the card run ok even though Asus did not put heatsinks on the memory like will it not overheat or something like that (if I dont overclock the card of course)?
Colleagues from Asus know what they are doing. If they did not put heatsinks on the vram then there is no need to additionaly cool the memory. But you can add heatsinks if you will and can, it wont hurt.
i have the same card the ram is designed to be cooled by the air from the fans as long as there is some air blowing my the card it should be fine
