Is there a way to set a max temperature? Because as you know Intel and AMD chips have different safe max temperature. If the unit was made with Intel chips in mind the AMD chips would constantly over heat.
bump
i dont get the question
Well the main question is how does this cooler tell what your max safe temp is for your cpu AMDs run cooler than Intels and I dont my Phenom II x4 overheating. Does it have default temp at which the Peltier unit kicks on. And if so what is it. The Chilltec isnt plugged into the Mobo from what I can tell It is powered by a 3pin to molex cable
what are your temps??
Max temps can be set in the Motherboard's BIOS, if they hit a certain temp an alarm will sound or system will shut down.
I understand how to do that. But, what I'd like to know is how does the TEC unit know what your cpu max temp is. So that it knows appropriately when to turn on. Because I would like it to kick on before it hits my cpu's max temp because it is much lower than an Intel cpu's max temp. I'd hate like hell for the TEC unit for it to be defaulted to an Intel cpu max temp or even a temp between the two temps if I'm using AMD ,which I am. If I set my max temp to a temp lower than which the TEC unit kicks on whats the point. Or can the you select the temp at which the TEC unit turns on.
What CPU cooler are we talking about here, the CM V10 Cooler?
