Hi, is there a video bios fix, for ATI's "Grey Screen of Death" issue on the 5xxx series cards, yet? If there are, can I download the BIOS from somewhere and flash it, or do I need to buy a new card with the new BIOS loaded onto it?
BTW. I have a MSI Radeon HD5850 Over clock edition (MSI R5850-PM2D1G-OC).
Grateful for answer.
Is this what you're referring to? [removed]

I searched but I can't find a bios to update the card. You might need to ask MSI. In truth I would RMA the video card because the problem is not going to go away and new drivers do not address the issue.

Lets not post any links to that website please. (long story) lol
Thanks for the involvement. I have RMA;d my card now, and let's hope it doesent happen to the new one...
I RMA:d the card but it worked correctly for them so they sent it back, but I still have the same problem. Any suggestions on what to do?
They did all of this tests:
* Stress test, 3DMark2006 3 loops - OK
* Stress test, FurMark 1.8.0 Stability Test, Xtreme Burning mode i 6h - OK
* gameplay, Crysis 30min - OK
* Stress test, Unigine Heaven 2.0 Benchmark 24h - OK
And this reminds me why I don't buy MSI products.
Does your motherboard have 2 video card slots? Try the other port, maybe it's just a loose card?
You can also try:
1) Create new user account (admin)
2) Log in to it
3) Play 3D games without 'solid color screen' crash
