I'm doing my homework on the Asus P6X58D Motherboard Before %100 decide to buy it for my upgrade build. On page 2.4.2 of the P6X58D user Manuel it states "Due to Intel spec definition, X.M.P.DIMMs and DDR3-1600 are supported for one DIMM per channel only." Does This mean higher speed memory say 1800Mhz is only supported for 3 DIMMs and i cant run 6 1800MHz dimms? Pleas clear my fog of confusion. What is the lowdown on this?
You might want to ask that on the ASUS P6X58D forum. Im pretty sure you can though.
Well i did find this on Asus website http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20100113120629250&board_id=1&model=P6X58D+Premium&page=1&SLanguage=en-us
This sux in a major way. Only 3 dims can be used at 1600MHz for a 3x2GB kit I wonder if 6x1=6GB will run and work the same as 3x2=6GB @ 1600MHz?
